14 percent of the respondents said they often 17 books for information instead of going online.
答案:(C) turned to
turn to books(求助於書籍)表示轉而查閱書籍,與 instead of going online(而非上網)呼應;used up(用完)、went off(離開/爆炸)、made into(做成)均不符合語意。
四個選項都是動詞加介副詞的片語,形態一樣,你會憑中文挑一個。
答對率四成五。先看空格前後:主詞是 14 percent of the respondents(一成四的受訪者),空格後面是 books for information instead of going online(書,為了找資料,而不是上網)。這一句在說有些人不上網、改去找書,所以要的是「轉而去用、求助於」——turn to。turn to something for something 是成組的說法,後面接的是你轉向的那樣東西與你要的東西。填進去讀成 they often turned to books for information(他們常轉而向書本找資料)。這與課本教過的 turn to somebody for help(向某人求助)是同一個 turn to,只是這裡轉向的不是人而是書。
used up(用完)後面接的是被用光的東西;went off(響起;離開;變質)不接受詞講「找資料」;made into 要寫成 make A into B,而且 A 是原料、B 是成品,書並不是被做成資料。
turn to somebody for help(向某人求助)、turn to something for something(轉而向……尋求……)、use up(用完)、go off(響起;變質)、instead of + V-ing(而不是做某事)、go online(上網)。
